UPDATED: Giant sequoia tree being replanted at Fort Boise Park

August 2024 · 1 minute read

Overnight, crews moved Idaho's largest sequoia tree to its new home at Fort Boise Park.

The tree sat on St. Luke's property for 100 years but had to be moved to make way for the hospital expansion.

Workers rolled the 800,000 lb payload across the street on inflated airbags. The video is that of the tree being moved overnight.

If cared for, the tree should live up to another 500 years.
