ORIGIN
Chinx Drugz was an American rapper and member of the hip-hop group, Coke Boys. He was born Lionel Pickens on December 4, 1983 in Queens, New York. Chinx was raised in Far Rockaway, where he experienced his fair share of struggles. He used music as a tool to voice his experiences and his ambition.

CAREER
Chinx began rapping in high school alongside his close friend Stack Bundles. The two formed the group ‘Riot Squad’ and worked together for several years. Chinx’s career was halted after he was incarcerated in a correctional facility from 2005 to 2008. Upon his release, he was introduced to rapper French Montana with whom he formed the group, Coke Boys. Chinx’s debut mixtape, Hurry Up & Die Vol.1, was released in April 2009. He followed up with Vol.2 in January 2010 and Vol.3 three months later.

Chinx continued his success with the ‘Cocaine Riot’ and ‘Coke Boys’ mixtape series. He gained momentum with the single “I’m A Coke Boy” in 2012 and the EP ‘I’ll Take It from Here’ in 2013. He’s also collaborated with artists like Juicy J, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, and Puff Daddy. Chinx’s debut studio album, Welcome to JFK, was released posthumously on August 14, 2015. The album peaked at #21 on the Billboard 200 and featured the single “On Your Body”. His second posthumous album, Legends Never Die, is scheduled for release in July 2016.

PERSONAL
Chinx Drugz died on May 17, 2015 at the age of 31. He was fatally shot in a drive-by shooting in Jamaica, Queens. He was pronounced dead at the Jamaica Medical Center. He is survived by his wife ‘Janelli Caceres’ and their three children. Chinx had a net worth of $250 thousand.
