July 2024 · 4 minute read

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom’s Majora’s Mask isn’t just a reference to a previous game in the series. It also provides a unique benefit to its wearer. Our guide helps you get the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Majora’s Mask, as well as give you various ways to complete the challenge therein.

Mind you, the Majora’s Mask isn’t the only unique item that you can discover. Throughout your journey, you might find other powerful items, such as the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Master Sword and the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Hylian Shield. These will help you across your journey.

How to get the Majora’s Mask in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

The Majora’s Mask in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom can be found in the Floating Coliseum in the Depths. The arena itself is close to the Great Abandoned Central Mine, which is a fairly important location.

Without spoiling anything, you’ll visit it as part of two main quests, as well as one lengthy side quest. Be forewarned, however, that the challenge that you need to complete should only be done once you’re well-prepared. We’ve marked the location on the map below:

How to reach the Floating Coliseum

Your first task is to reach the Floating Coliseum. If you’ve already discovered the Great Abandoned Central Mine then, chances are, you’ll have tagged nearby Lightroots already. It’s only a matter of going around the Floating Coliseum’s lakeside area and heading to the northwestern portion, which leads to its entrance.

If you haven’t discovered the area yet, then we suggest going to the Great Plateau further south of Hyrule Field. You’ll find a rockslide that can be destroyed, revealing a pathway to the plateau. There, you can skydive down any of the Chasms until you can tag the nearby Lightroots.

To get the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Majora’s Mask, you have to defeat five Lynel variants (one at a time, not simultaneously).

We’ve discussed these types of creatures already in our how to defeat a Lynel in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom guide. However, just to recap, we recommend remembering the following mechanics:

We also need to mention some important tidbits solely for this encounter:

Majora’s Mask stats

After defeating all five Lynels, you’ll unlock the chest. Inside, you’ll find the Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Majora’s Mask.

Sadly, it only has a pitiful +1 armor rating. However, its effects can prove beneficial. When worn, you have a chance of confusing enemies, preventing them from aggroing Link. This can lead to a stealthy approach when you’re exploring dungeons, caves, and the wilderness.

In any case, the Majora’s Mask is just one of many unique items that you can discover in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. For more information about the game and tips as you play, you can check out our Zelda Tears of the Kingdom walkthrough.
