ORIGIN
Glenn Frey was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and founder of the ‘Eagles’ rock band. He was born on November 6, 1948 in Detroit, Michigan but he grew up in Royal Oak. Frey completed his high school studies in 1966 before playing in local bands like ‘The Four of Us’, ‘Mushrooms’ and ‘Heavy Metal Kids’. He later moved to Los Angeles with his then-girlfriend in an effort to pursue music. He became a member of the ‘Longbranch Pennywhistle’ duo and wrote his first songs “Run, Boy, Run” and “Rebecca”.

CAREER
Frey formed the band ‘Eagles’ in 1971 and released their self titled debut album the following year. The band released a total of seven studio albums and became one of the best selling bands of all time with over 150 million records sold worldwide. The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Frey made his debut as a solo artist in the 1980s. His debut solo album ‘No Fun Aloud’ was released in 1982. He’s know for hit singles like “The One You Love”, “The Heat Is On” and “You Belong to the City”.

PERSONAL
Glenn Frey died on January 18, 2016 at the age of 67. His death was attributed to pneumonia, rheumatoid arthritis and ulcerative colitis. He had a net worth of $70 million. He was married to first wife “Janie Beggs” from 1983 to 1988. He married second wife “Cindy Millican” from 1990 to his death. He had three children; Taylor, Deacon and Otis.
